Yesterday (Friday), we had our last day in Kyoto. We headed east to Kyoto City Zoo and saw everything from tigers to tortoises. The zoo was a little depressing, not only was it hammering down with rain, but the animals are not given a huge amount of room and looked sad. Our ryokan was near another excellent temple/shrine and we had a wander around in the rain.
We popped out for dinner and on our return our beds had been laid out ready for bed.
